As a rough rule of thumb; if you dive less than 10 times a year, hiring may be a more economical option than purchasing your own gear
Need to hire dive gear in Wellington? If you dive less than 10 times a year ( a national survey found that Joe Scuba Averages 4.5 dives a year) it’s far cheaper to hire gear than own it. Plus you don’t need to pay annual servicing costs.
We hire equipment for scuba divers & snorkelers. We have a good range : over 40 suits, 20 BCD’s, 20 regulators with octopus and compass, 40 cylinders plus plenty of mask, snorkels, boots & fins etc.
New equipment is introduced every year. We offer standard analogue or computer gauges.
( Closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays through winter)

We only hire scuba to qualified divers – please bring your scuba certification card when you hire. These must be entered on the scuba hire form. A refundable deposit is required when hiring equipment. When gear is returned in the same condition as it left the deposit is backed onto the credit card you used for the hire
Freedive equipment does not require a certification card.
Divers wanting an airfill are not required to show certification. Any cylinder that is outside it’s test date will not be filled.
