Air Fills

Air Fills $12.00 or buy a 10 fill card for $100.
Our Bauer compressor pumps 30 cu ft / minute. Our storage banks hold 65,000 litres of air at 330 bar pressure. We have the shortest ‘queue time’ for fills of any Wellington shop. Air purity is checked by NZU every three months, and always meets their highest standard.

Air Cylinder Testing

Island Bay Divers is an New Zealand Underwater (NZU) approved air cylinder testing station. We have been testing tanks for longer than any dive shop in Wellington – 40 years. We guarantee your tank will be tested within 24 hours.
Cylinder test rates are:

Testing prices include a free $12 air fill.

Equipment Hire

We only hire scuba to qualified divers – a deposit and conditions apply. Please bring your scuba certification.

No certification is required for divers hiring snorkel gear.

Equipment Service and Repair

We provide servicing and repair of all dive equipment. Some items, such as dive computers , are forwarded to specialist centers to ensure they are pressure tested. Service charges depend on parts cost and labour but charges are usually around :

We carry over 800 different stock items. If you require us to order something in, delivery from NZ wholesalers into store is normally 24 hours.

We offer drysuits from top international manufacturers Scubapro, Aqualung, Cressi Sub, Northern Divers, Mares – Trilaminate, neoprene or crushed neoprene models in custom made or off the shelf.

Wetsuits and semi drys are available from Aqualung/US Divers, Cressi-sub, Mares, Land & Sea, Seaquel, Prodive, Splash. We also offer made to measure wetsuits.

Cylinders – we stock both aluminum & steel with K valve or Din valves. Brands are Faber and Catalina.

Spearfishing & free diving : we stock Rob Allen, Cressi, Mares, Esclapez, Epsealon, Seac and Sea & Sea brands.
